S & J Gran Cafe

I love coming here if I'm looking for a Mexican style breakfast. The chilaques here are good but they are always different everytime I order them. Sometimes they are spicy or more sweet than usual. Either way I'm fine with it. Same as for their horchata drink. Sometimes it's so good but other times just taste like milk. Also, the carne asada is decent, sometimes too fatty. Keep in mind, I'm a picky eater so If you come here o recommend their grand burrito, chilaques, and their chorizo skillet

Excellent breakfast/lunch restaurant with plenty of Mexican & American favourites. Breakfast special is only $5 + drink, served before 8:00am. It's generally a quiet place to eat, service is friendly and the food quality is consistently good. A go-to place for our family

Update: I went today, and the dishes we ordered were pretty good. Chilaquiles tasted so good. The salsa with the egg and chips was additive. Huevos con Chorizo was good as the last time when I was here. The chorizo wasn't too spicy and salty. It tasted good even with the corn tortilla. French toast was just ok. Mexican Latte had a strong flavor of cinnamon. I liked it, but I would go with half of the sweetness if possible. Hot Zapata Latte Cacahuate was something new to me. It tasted like latte with peanut butter. It's really smooth. I will suggest to order their Mexican breakfast instead the American breakfast. This new location is roomy and open. It's great for small group gathering. Very cozy and comfy. It was an average breakfast. However, because Diamond Bar doesn't have many choices on breakfast, I will still give a 4 stars.

Our first dining experience at S&J GRAN CAFÉ was a special treat. Not being familiar with the Diamond Bar breakfast restaurants in the area, we walked in on a whim. No doubt we will return. I ordered Chilaquiles with chicken. The dish is served hot with homemade green sauce, egg, crispy home made corn tortilla chips, and toppings. Yum! I also tried their Mexican Mocha café, served hot. My husband ordered a ham and cheese omelet. This dish is served with mashed pinto beans and three homemade corn tortillas. His dish looked like a smaller serving than mine, but that's okay because I now have leftovers to enjoy tonight. The restaurant itself is modern in design with a colorful hand written menu mural of varying sized fonts. Very artistic! As for the menu options, the dishes are influenced by a host of several Latin and Hispanic countries (e.g., Mexico, Cuba, Guatemala, Peru), and of course the U.S. Several dishes were accompanied with black beans or pinto beans, and plaintains were listed on a few. The restaurant is at the back of The Plaza At Diamond Creek, so it is not easily viewed from the street. Our waitress was pleasant and readily answered all of my questions about the food. I highly recommend this place for your next meal.

Very friendly server. Great coffee!! It’s not instant coffee normally you get from normal breakfast place. The food was great specifically Mexican breakfast.

My second time here and did not disappoint. Took my friends for their first time and loved the food. We had breakfast on a Saturday morning: green Chilaquiles, Veggie Omelette and the Zapata Latte ! So delish ! The wait was worth it - hand made tortillas are awesome. Waitress/servers get busy - be patient and you will have a great experience.
